Strength/Power
Strength:
The force a muscle or muscle group can exert in one maximal effort. Pure strength is not the number one goal of a sport specific training program. At Team Fitness, we focus on "functional" strength, the kind of strength you would utilize during competition. Functional strength is achieved by training movements, not muscles. Our philosophy is very different from the traditional body building method of isolating muscle groups.

Power: (speed x strength)

Power Endurance: The ability to duplicate power movements over a period of time.

Landing Power: The ability to perform a controlled and balanced landing.

Reactive Power: The ability to generate power immediately following a landing.

Take-off Power: The power used to project the body to the highest point.

Starting Power: The ability to apply maximum force at the beginning of a movement.

Acceleration Power: The ability to achieve high speeds.

Deceleration Power: The ability to change directions abruptly at high speeds
